This one was converted from an opera house (and the stage is the cafe). And this one used to be a movie theater! I like the idea of books creeping into non-book-intended spaces and taking over...
Maybe when we all become independently wealthy we can find amazing spaces to take over and turn into cool bookstores of our own. How fun would that be?!
i used to shop at Bookstop in Houston, but i'd always go to one closer to my parents' house. i'd drive by the one in that photo all the time when i'd drive into the river oaks area (usually to a movie), but i never shopped there. i had no idea it was that gorgeous inside! maybe next time we're in town, i'll go check it out.
Oh my, that's amazing! Especially the opera house! I would love to visit that bookstore!
ReplyDeleteMe, too, Chris. Talk about bookstore tourism!
ReplyDeleteThose seem so cool! I'd love to visit them.
